Expertise

What I do?

Jasmit Bajwa is a highly trained Registered Physiotherapist with advanced education across musculoskeletal rehabilitation, pelvic health, running related conditions, and medical acupuncture. She holds a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph, with additional post graduate training in Medical Acupuncture, Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Levels 1, 2 and 3, assessment and treatment of running gait and associated pathologies, and AIMS Level 1.

Jasmit’s areas of expertise include orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, pelvic health physiotherapy, pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation, running related injuries, sports injuries, persistent pain, and post operative rehabilitation. She has experience treating acute and chronic orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions affecting the spine and upper and lower extremities, including joint, muscle, tendon, and sport related injuries, as well as post surgical rehabilitation.

Her approach is personalized and goal focused. Jasmit takes the time to understand what is limiting each patient, what they are hoping to return to, and the factors that may be contributing to their symptoms. She then develops an individualized treatment plan that may include hands on manual therapy, movement analysis, therapeutic exercise, strength training, medical acupuncture, education, and other techniques based on the patient’s needs.

Jasmit’s approach to physiotherapy goes beyond temporarily reducing pain. Her focus is on helping patients understand their condition, rebuild confidence in movement, improve their physical capacity, and develop the tools needed to return to the activities that matter to them. Whether someone is recovering from an injury or surgery, returning to sport or running, managing persistent symptoms, or navigating pregnancy and postpartum changes, Jasmit provides clear guidance, education, and individualized care throughout the rehabilitation process.

Jasmit provides care in English and Punjabi.

I believe

My mantra is to “Empower, Educate and Restore.”

My approach is centered on helping people take an active role in their recovery. I combine hands on treatment, movement, education, and individualized exercise to address the factors contributing to your symptoms and build lasting improvements in how you move and function. The goal is not simply to reduce pain, but to help you move with greater confidence and return to the activities that matter to you.

FAQ'S

Q & A with Jasmit Bajwa

My areas of specialty include orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, sports injuries, running related injuries, pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation, persistent pain, and post operative rehabilitation. I treat conditions affecting the spine and upper and lower extremities, including joint, muscle, and tendon injuries, and tailor treatment to each person’s goals and activity demands.

I take a personalized and goal focused approach to treatment. I take the time to understand what is limiting you, what you want to get back to, and the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms.

From there, I develop an individualized treatment plan that combines the most appropriate elements of hands on treatment, movement analysis, exercise, strength training, and education. My focus is not only on reducing symptoms, but also on improving function, rebuilding confidence in movement, and giving you the tools to make progress both inside and outside the clinic.

Depending on your individual needs and goals, treatment may include:

  • • Manual therapy and joint mobilizations
  • • Soft tissue release
  • • Medical acupuncture
  • • Therapeutic exercise and strength training
  • • Pelvic floor rehabilitation
  • • Running gait assessment and retraining
  • • Functional movement retraining
  • • Taping
  • • Education and self-management strategies

Yes. When appropriate, I collaborate with other practitioners to help ensure your care is coordinated and aligned with your goals. A multidisciplinary approach can be especially valuable when different areas of expertise can contribute to a more complete rehabilitation plan.
