What I Do?

I completed my undergraduate degree in Athletic Therapy at Sheridan College, and received a Bachelor of Applied Science. Wanting to further my knowledge and expertise in the musculoskeletal system and to learn more about the neurological and cardiorespiratory systems, I went on to complete my Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University.

I have worked with a variety of sports teams, treating many different injuries along the way. I have experience working in acute, life-threatening situations, as well as treating more chronic conditions. I have extensive knowledge and ability for utilizing taping techniques and exercise prescription for return to play. I have seen the ways in which injury can have, not only a physical, but also a psychological impact on health, and can greatly affect an individual’s return to sport, work, or any other aspect of life.

After being alongside my sister and sister-in-laws during their pregnancies, I developed a special interest in the pre and post partum population. I went on to receive specialized training in Pelvic Floor Rehab, completing multiple courses through Pelvic Health Solutions. Through my clinical experience, I have seen how Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy can positively impact a woman’s experience during and after pregnancy, as well as assisting/prepping for labour.

My approach to treatment is a combination of manual therapy and exercise. Movement is extremely important, and I believe it has a tremendous positive impact on both physical and mental health!

I Believe

Movement is extremely important, and she believes it has a tremendous positive impact on both physical and mental health! OR you must treat the person, not the injury. Every patient is different, so not one treatment technique will suit all individuals. Cookie cutter approach is not the right approach!

“The facility is beautifully appointed with a fresh clean aesthetic, the staff are friendly, and the booking system is quick and efficient. Today I met an angel – Jeannine! My initial physiotherapy assessment and treatment with her was thorough and effective. Her treatment immediately brought me relief from a painful flare-up of lifelong joint issues. Jeannine has also given me a practical treatment plan to follow that fits my schedule. I am actually looking forward to my weekly treatments and I am feeling hopeful of a pain free future. Thank you Jeannine!!”

Q & A With Jeannine

Registered Physiotherapist, Athletic Therapy, Pelvic Health

Athletics/Sports, Pelvic Health, Pre/Post Partum Care, Post Surgical

A mixture of manual and exercise therapy. I believe exercise is the most important part of a treatment plan and should be given to any patient that walks into the clinic

Manual therapy (soft tissue release), cupping, scraping/Graston, therapist assisted stretching, exercise rehab, taping

Yes! After completing the initial Physiotherapy assessment, I will work with you to develop a treatment plan. I will make any recommendations to involve other healthcare professionals in your care. Some examples may include massage therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, orthotics.

There is a wide range of conditions/patients that I treat for Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy. I would say most of the patients I see are pre and post natal. Most of my focus is on pregnancy and post partum. However, I also treat patients who are experiencing incontinence (example: urinary/fecal leaking, especially when coughing/sneezing/jumping), people with endometriosis, pelvic girdle pain, etc. The only patient population that I do not see is currently male patients.
